is Time / Date related content?
Time / Date related content is content (text and images
usually, but can also include sound, video and other
rmultimedia) which is controlled by time constraints.
They can be limited to appear for only a certain length
of time, they can be activated by a certain event or
they may even BE the event. I continually use a copyright
script which states:
© Copyright Neil
Trigger 1999 - [Whatever the year is now]. This prevents
me having to update all of the pages I have designed
since 1999 (and believe me - there are a LOT)!!
In
this example:
I used Time / Date related content techniques to change
the Magic2k logo on http://www.magic2k.com.
This picks out the beginning and end of certain annual
periods (as well as full moons and special events) and
updates the site automatically.
This saves effort by allowing
me to do all the necessary changes in one go, rather
than having to log on at midnight on Christmas morning
to wish the Magic2k visitors merry christmas (something
that I'm not too keen on doing - as much as I love them...)
